Others looked for gold, yes, in 1996 through 2006. Auris had the tenement in 2015. Auris was looking for copper in 2015. They had unearthed copper in the 2006 drilling, in 2014, by re-assaying the chip piles. So, one would assume, in 2015 when they were drilling a hole for gold, that they might have thought "hmmm, if Gleneagle Gold missed the copper in 2006 because it's not bleeding apparrent, and we are trying to find trace element indicators of VHMS mineralisation in this search for VHMS's along the Big Billy - Wodger - Forrest corridor that we started last year by re-assaying historical drilling, maybe we should...I dunno...assay our own gold drilling for copper".
I mean...maybe this spill of the board was well justified after all - the incumbents clearly weren't being systematic at assaying. For example, if the copper is in the form of chalcocite (which is 80% Cu) then 5% Cu is 6% minerals in the rock. Dark, blacky-purple minerals. 0.2% Cu as chalcocite is to all intents and purposes basically invisible. So you have to assay everything. So-called VMS experts should know this.
So, yeah, I'm thrilled for holders. But holders should be querying their management about whether they'll be re-assaying anything that hasn't already been assayed. You never know what gems will turn up!
