Photographing the core in the core box together with the detailed section of core would allow people to see how homogenous the magnetite banding is through the entire drill section of interest and consequently how homogenous the potentially mineralised zone might in fact be........and XFR is successfully used by many companies including companies that report on ASX.

For example when PEX discovered high grades of Pb-Zn-Ag-Au at its Wagga Tank project last year in NSW they reported the initial results using XRF which were later found to underestimated the grade somewhat but that didn't however stop the company from successfully detecting and reporting the high grade hits to the ASX. The Wagga Tank hits are from massive sulphide mineralisation so there would have been little dispute about the drill intervals containing large quantities of sulphides. The XRF just confirmed the high grade nature of those sulphides and the payable grades of the metals.

Of course XRF is used nowadays in base metal exploration, unless of course you have been sleeping under a rock. Esh
