Strike SSE...sorry it should be SSW/NNE. Basically it seems that we are in gneissic terrain. The magnetics is probably showing the "gneissosity", which in turn is probably reacting to the predom late structural regime (last major gasp?). I assume the gold is structurally controlled. The strike of the structural grain as interpreted from the aeromagnetics is SSW, NNE...so this is my thinking.

I think in these terrains there is tendency to get tenor/high grades.

It maybe worth noting that Tropicana is in a gneissic terrain. I think a lot of the structure has been interpreted from the magnetics there...

NOT saying this is another Tropicana, but using Tropicana as an example of the structural roles/control on gold and reading of structure in such terrains.

There used to be thinking in the sacred Geological Halls, that if you were in high grade gneiss, that you would not find a large deposit. Consequently I think these terrains have been relatively lightly explored in W Oz. Tropicana is the notable exception, and happens to have been one of the most significant greenfield gold discoveries in the last 20 years in W Oz?

Early days, but signs are very good to me.

    Good luck to all. Tropicana.JPG
