OK- so let's look at this logically.
what you are saying is that if i bought the same generic product lines that Coles and Woolies have on offer, i would be paying a lot more than the generic Aldi brand.

that is a lie and you know it.
what you must realize is that Aldi puts a fancy label on generic products and then the typical wombat compares them to brand label .

also, their generic product is not good quality.

well, now we have a basketful of overpriced stuff we bought from Aldi and are feeling really chuffed.
but then we wake up- we miss out on Reward points, bin liners and 4 cent petrol vouchers, plus we are slugged with a 2.5% surcharge on the Visa/ Mastercard credit card.

ps- i can cop all that, but then i have to take their crap trolley way back to the store entrance to get my $2 back.

my take on the popularity of the Aldi phenomenon is a bit left of field. because it is akin to shopping in a large shed without proper isles, you are forced to interact with other Aldi "tragics".

that is a recipe for disaster .
