))isn't speculation exciting). anyones guess really and if I was to hazard a guess could well be just as easy an explanation as health issues as well and notwithstanding he doesn't need the money maybe tidying up his affairs?. none of us know the reason(s) only that it obviously has been in the wind for a while (thus resignation effective from Thursday) and an appointee already in the wings. which to me looks like an amicable split for whatever reason - otherwise resignation would have been immediate IMO.

so notwithstanding its unexpected to us it appears to have been expected by the company and on the cards for a bit. Maybe he delayed his resignation date till an appropriate replacement was found and this ties in with the replacements availability to commence the position here (as he/she may have had to resign from a previous position - so IMO it all appears amicable at this point in time.

anyhow awaiting the newbie to see who that may be.
