My understanding of things talking to a few people in Singapore is that Chandler has had enough of screwing around in crappy resource stocks (eg Sino Forest) and is looking to re-centre his business on holding distressed world class businesses, which is how he built his fortune.
It would make perfect sense for him to withdraw gradually from EWC. It wouldn't surprise me if the share price weakness of late and the directors' resignations have been linked to him selling out.
But just because a billionaire chooses to refocus his own fund doesn't alter the fundamentals of the company he has invested in and if anything will provide a great buying opportunity, especially with the catalysts coming up.
IMHO, DYOR etc
