If they are refining a production process to be locked in for a 3 or 5 year period and one process is 1 cent cheaper than the other it could equate to hundreds of millions of dollars.
I think it is prudent to explore all possibilities now.
I am also curious if the etching is still outsourced or Tower Jazz is doing it in house. It will be better in the long run for one company to complete the job but they have to get it right.
