Your second last paragraph is called a logical fallacy. That is where you draw conclusions based on something you know against something you think you know applying the same logic.
I think AP are 6 months from a demonstrable chip, and the quality and durability of the chip is now a big question to me, reading between the lines obviously. I noted that Fred in one announcement mentioned “as hinted in a previous announcement...” so he’s definitely one to “hint” things. The hint in this announcement is a back step from producing specifications by third week of May to now spending the next few months working with the Vendors as they refine the fabrication process.
I know some of you are heavily invested financially and emotionally, but I personally cannot shake the feeling of being sold dodgy mattresses.
Personally I also think too much emphasis is being put on the wafers, when in reality the Control system from the DSR is far more vital. I can’t imahine how AP have dealt with some very fundamental electrical and electro-magnetic influences in dense electronics. The MEMS is certainly difficult, but not nearly as complicated as the brain of the operation. I think the next issues will stem from the control system, and my 6 months might turn into 6 years.
