They haven't (understandably) said how bad the 'pixel yield' problem. Did the May wafer(s) have even a single chip with 100% of the pixels working?
And re testing, no amount of testing by AP will prove the chip perfect. They need to get the chip to users to find the design and operational problems that they haven't even thought of testing for.
