I think that it's appropriate that I post on this thread concerning the latest drilling news. The subject matter of the other thread still simmers though! . Thanks for posting Bee Jaye. I thought that you may have hit the escape button, but not so eh!

I had foreshadowed an ann like this (following the Preso news re the drilling x 2) and I like what I read .

    So:

    1. Rigs (plural ??) being mobilised over the weekend. "Drilling is set to commence early next week."

    2. The new Forrest target to be diamond drilled first (ref p3 "Drilling is set to commence to test the (Wodger) DHEM anomaly following completion of the planned Forrest prospect drill hole").

    3. The Forrest DD has a planned depth of 600ms (ref Figure 2) and is based on a reprocessing of a previously-done ground EM which has defined 'a new conductor". Check Fig 2 and the red line on the surface for its extent; also Fig 1 "FGDD007"

4."Forrest prospect  is interpreted to be structurally controlled within a strongly sheared talc-carbonate schist."

    5. "The same talc-chlorite schist zone is observed in WDDs 1 and 2".

    6. The copper mineralisation drilled at Wodger is interpreted to be epigenetic. The DD will target the 100m x 75m off-hole conductor at a depth of about 520ms 'in a position consistent with the dip of the mineralisation intersected to date'.

So, here we go again, wishing and hoping that 'this will be it' - finally!

    GLTA!

PS I am a bit confused about the schist/epigenetic/western v eastern limb stuff and so will have another read. Others' thoughts?

"Schist" is new. See here! http://geology.com/rocks/schist.shtml

The report uses the word 'younging' again. Read the middle paragraph on p2. Wictionary says it means: "The direction in which stratigraphy becomes younger, for a particular formation" I think that knowing 'the younging direction' is very important. A close read of the paragraph I cited is required to try to understand the logic applied in coming to the stated conclusion that the Forrest horizon to the east has not been tested.

Forrest must look pretty good so as to be drilled first. It was the number 1 priority in the previous ann, and still is it seems.

This report has a lot of information in it. I'm going to read it again a couple of times. I encourage others to do the same so as to see what the geo team is thinking.
