Very strange all of this. I was having a discussion with a colleague. Below is what was discussed.
Benefits of Opening up the Gas / Oil unconventional and Concventional Exploration
Decrease in Price with increased supply;
Increases GST revenues
Royalties to land owners and state government
Create a trade surplus with vast resources available
Job Creator to rival WA during the mining boom
Profits for investors
Income can be invested by state government to invest in mixed energy supply long term and on national grid.
Downside
Country would not meet emissions targets, but shouldn't the country use the natural resources and available to advance its economy ?
Environmental Impact - Can this be managed through strict controls and governance
What we're seeing in SA, is no to the battery plant being built ? Urgh ? So demand cannot be managed now during outgages.
No investment in solar.
Oh investment in the grid
More coal which is the worst polluter of all !!
VIC well again more instransience and again at a federal level, no clear policy
Feels like how the lack of planning and lack of long term vision has caused problems with housing, roads. Clear lack of managing supply and demand. Result, cost of living up; cost of travel up; time lost travelling up. People moving out of cities because of affordability. Aussies now aren't able to afford to buy their own property.
Seems that idiot politicians are taking away alot because of their inconsistent policies both at a federal and state level.
