re: Ann: DEXUS Property Group Half Year Resul... if its a trust its 70% of distributions,the payout ratio is now no better than MOF in relative terms MOF is probably cheaper,i suspect in the case of all reits with improving balance sheets that the managers are taking this opportunity to utilise some of the profit as working capital for refurbishments etc given the minimal improvement if used for distributions,they can legitimately drag the bottom line down,so it is not really a discouraging path just disappointing if you want income,however it is conceivable that in 12-18 months distributions along with valuations will dramatically improve.
trusts are governed by legal requirements,
i do not currently hold dexus ,however i constantly review the sector, dxs ,wdc,mof are appealing to me currently a holder in mof doing light trade and maximising drp is my game
as a result tax will be an issue this year which is a pleasant change,i think this sector has a long way to run with hopefully an even longer period of sustainable increasing distributions ,making it a conservative but worthwhile investment for retirement
