These guys are likely local West Papuans and taking serious offense at some foreign owned company barging in with their big machine onto their patch, no matter what the mining regulations say.

The sabotage suggests they ain't taking it laying down. Their livelihood is being taken from them, in front of their eyes.

It may well be that the WWI board and management have to find a formula to cut the locals in on what we're hoping will be Eldorado.

In broad terms, WWI have got find a way to align the interests of the locals with the interests of WWI shareholders. I don't know what the formula is or how it can be worked out, but this might be the only solution.

I doubt a big stick approach would have any success. Let's go for the carrot.
