Call me Nostradamus but my prediction is you will see a lodgement in a couple of days that RIM is no longer a substantial shareholder (they were the seller of 10M). At the same time you will see a substantial shareholder notice purchase from one of the corporate action arb instos (I am guessing Macquarie).
I don't think see how this changes anything. There is a legally binding agreement for the takeover. Everything else aside EOC can start mining on a very low CAPEX and OPEX mine almost immediately. EOC is in a decent position anyway as it has a good asset.
Again well done with the sale at 36.4c, but for me I have seen nothing to suggested that this deal has been delayed on regulatory approvals however will be done in 4 to 6 weeks.
