Yes, Blackrock are buying the shares for their various global funds (I counted eight from quick glance). But as a fund manager would you not distribute your risk across various companies within the sector as opposed to religiously increasing your stake in one (typical fund risk allocation)? It's just odd behaviour for my mind. While currently a conspiracy theory, it is not outside the realms of possibility to think that Blackrock are gaining as many voting rights possible for something down the line.
