So update, after spending two stressful days on "read", my crush has responded with a resounding "maybe next summer if you're in better shape". My self esteem has fallen by roughly 35% and is likely to continue declining in the coming weeks as I look at fit happy people on instagram.
(happy side note, I'll be back to accumulating around $1, still a believer).
