I should have added, Doctors who are employees in Australian Public hospitals are covered for malpractice risks by the relevant state governments. This I think also extends to teaching hospitals where the registrar (in-house trainee doctor) is being supervised by say Professor (whoever). Most Australian burns are likely to be initially treated through the public hospital emergency centres then the public hospital burns units.
