The ability to locate greenhouses in deserts or on islands that have no services, would go a long way toward eliminating starvation in many parts of the world.
If this research is successful, even locations that lack freshwater can be productive as long as they can access sea water or saline groundwater,
Locations that we’re previously considered uninhabitable soon be settled.
