hinklestab, if you plan to do it again, it is best to take a year off something like Jan to Jan if you can. That way you get two years with half a years wages and low income.

My brother's friends are teachers in the UK. They decided to go sailing and rent their house out for one year. They had such a good time and realised that the rental income pretty much funded their traveling life. They are still going four and a half years later.
