Agree with you on some points.
They may be worried the general market may be 'disappointed' with numbers alone and prefer to use %'s. I, much like you would like you sometimes would like to see numbers here.
However, being a fairly competitive field and a newish company they may want to keep somethings to themselves until they build enough market share. If they advertise growth too much they may come to the attention of competition? Just thinking out loud here.
In regards to re-naming, I think they are trying to change their image to connect with consumers, I like the advertising of "Honest" electricity.. Hey, the name "honest" made Jessica Alba' s company turn over billions...
