Abenab Mine
Was considered to be the “worlds richest” vanadium mine
> 1.8 Mt @ 1.05% V2O5
> Produced 102,000 t of concentrate @ 18% V2O5 , 13% Zn & 42% Pb
• Explored by Avonlea Minerals Ltd (now AVZ Minerals Ltd) in 2011-12*
> Underground grab samples up to 6.2% V2O5
• Drilling tested extension of known mineralised zone at depth
• New, near-surface zone of vanadium mineralisation discovered
> Broad zones of mineralisation intersected in diamond drilling, i.e. 32 m @ 1.8% V2O5
> High grade, i.e. 10 m @ 4% V2O5
* Note that the mineral resource estimate is reported in accordance with the JORC Code 2004 and is not reported in accordance with the JORC Code 2012. A Competent Person has not done sufficient work to classify the estimates of mineral resources in accordance with the JORC Code 2012 and it is possible that following evaluation and/or further exploration work, the currently reported estimates may materially change and consequently will need to be reported again under and in accordance with the JORC Code 2012. The Company has not yet independently validated the resource estimates and therefore is not to be regarded as reporting, adopting or endorsing those estimates
Christiana Mine
• Adjacent to Abenab and part of same mineralisation system
• Historic production 90,000 t of concentrates grading 72% Pb, 13% V2O5 from 540,000 t of ore (South West Africa Co internal reports)
• GED’s exploration has included surveying, channel sampling and geological mapping
• Very high grade sampling results including 44 m @ 22.11% Pb+Zn & 0.53% V2O5 in ABUG0022, just 15m below surface
• 5,000-6,000 m RC percussion drilling proposed, targeting vanadium-lead-zinc mineralisation along mineralised trend
• Mineralisation grade and tonnage in historical waste dumps and tailings on-site to be evaluated
• Potential to discover additional resources for future Abenab-Christiana mine re-development
What is GED exactly trying to achieve at the moment at Abenab-Are they drilling for new JORC definition of these area's ?
