Well, yes, you would float the copper and probably take the gold via gravity circuit. But WGX's mills are not float circuits, they are cyanidation circuits with a gravity front end (and depending on the ore source, the gravity is more, or less, important).

Chucking oxide and transitional copper sulphides into a cyanidation plant is death. Hence the "CIP (carbon in pulp) was ineffective in recovering gold" statement.

And yeah, great, let's build a float plant. Best you can hope for is $80M. So you'd need at least 120Kt of copper to justify it. Again, refer to Doray's efforts down at Gullewa. The floating of copper isn't the issue, it's justifying the whole shebang. DRM has had a significant amount of trouble dealing with their copper middlings byproduct from Deflector - it nearly sent them under until they got money for it, because the contained value in the middlings was trapped for several quarters, which took the revenue out of DRM's mine plan, and they were doing an underground mine which isn't cheap.

So, I'm hardly convinced that the Chunderloo mineralisation has any intrinsic value unless they add a huge amount more. Though, that said, it's only 100km up the road to DeGrussa, so tolling would be an option. But still...350t of copper?
