@cowcockie, thanks for the reply. I reckon Brazil could be a formidable competitor, from talking to south americans in general they talk big about beef so I assume they have a good knowledge base on the subject and that their beef is of a comparable quality (never tasted it, but I assume they wouldnt be big beef eaters and bring it up in conversations if it wasnt). I assume that as oz is closer to the asian markets and has more direct flights to asia that we could dominate the premium fresh beef market, but as has been demonstarted with frozen stuff, whoever does it cheaper wins. In europe there was always argentina beef in the frozen section, and it was premium cuts (i think the muscle running along the backbone, backstrap?), and I was over there a while and it was always there so must have sold.

Also in regard to Brazil, they are currently in a crisis so this again will make their meat cheaper.

.......But this is why I think the AAC startegy of premium fresh beef is a winner as it has the potential to get out of beef as a general commodity (i understand its still a commodity but just with fewer competitors)

Time will tell, and even if I'm not an owner of the company at the time I wish them all the best, as it is going to be good for oz (and consumers in general if beef gets better and better)

Plan to reenter after the market settles, majority of things are a bit pricey at the moment
