Interesting comment by Gillard on the removal of the $1000 solar hot water rebate yesterday. The effect was that the benefits of solar hot water will increase with the carbon tax to the point that it will still pay. That is, carbon prices are going to push retail mains electricity so high that capital intensive solar hws will be a no-brainer even without the $1000 give away. We are in for pain in the back pocket.
