Now the election has been postponed to December 30, officially due to technical problems such as the recent burning (allegedly arson) of thousands of voting machines in the capital.  The postponement is not a "good" thing but I'm not sure it's the worst thing, and I mean for the DRC and not just for shareholders.  By which I mean:  Although the current regime is obviously not a developed democracy and has inherited decades of corruption - which in such regimes always involves keeping the military happy - still I'm not sure that the mere formality of an apparently "fair election" would stabilise the country even if it happens, without first developing the kind of coherent civil society that is in that habit of accepting election results without violent repercussions.  The American Empire (of my otherwise great country of origin) has constantly meddled in "developing countries'" internal affairs under the guise of promoting "democracy", with disastrous results such as in the basket case of Iraq.  And now Ukraine too, another CIA disaster.  Which then makes me wonder, turning to the DRC, if America might to some extent be behind one or more of Kabila's party's opponents?  AND could THAT be part of the reason for the recent mainstream media attacks on the DRC's "human rights" problems AND the media thereby trying to promote non-DRC sources of Cobalt?  At least as long as the DRC is not under American control - as contrasted with Saudi Arabia, the world's main source of Jihadi terrorism AND one of the worst human rights abusers!  Therefore maybe Kabila just needs to invite Trump to do a Congolese equivalent of Trump's Saudi Sword Dance?  (Photo here:  http://www.daily-sun.com/assets/news_images/2017/05/22/Daily-Sun-14-02-22-05-2017.jpg
