The second finer-grained, darker, magnetite-rich gabbro is interesting. It implies that there are multiple intrusive phases, a lot like more typical porphyry intrusions. Is higher magnetite content associated with even higher precious metal content?!!

I think Hercules' appointment (what a name!) might have something to do with the ionic nature of the mineralisation. A traditional chemist or metallurgist might not have much to offer here, but his experience at the atomic level might be what they want.

Could be useful doing a magnetic/electromagnetic survey combined gravity survey rather than step out drilling if your hypothesis of higher magnetite content correlating with higher precious metal content , the magnetite could also be in a flat to slightly dipping BIF as was which would make vertical drilling valid
