I think Pointerra has lots of potential if they just applied their efforts into a more potentially profitable direction. The Nearmap model is completely inappropriate for massive point data regimes, and in fact frequently changing models.

Structurally they have a great product, but it has its limitations. For example, they claim they have 150,000,000,000 in an online database. I am sure that is correct. If there is one error in any of the data, and it requires editing, then the whole datastructure has to be rebuilt, and that will be very very very very slow. Generally the faster the access the slower the updates.

If your a technical person just think about. If your a marketing person, look on the bright side and forget reality.

As I said a great product, great potential, which will not be realised in this DAAS fantasy. Their market is in licensing or selling the technology. As Trump would say..Sad.
