Right on!! It's like difference between paid Navigation software and free google map for navigation where the paid software has more functions & capability. You just can't have it all in a free software.
Many examples of free vs paid software such as Photoshop vs MS paint ACDsee and plenty, MS Office vs OpenOffice, vmware player vs Virtualbox etc...
Still as some said previously, you either take the code and hire developers to develop your own advanced version inhouse but it still costs money to hire people to maintain it. At the end of the day, someone wll ask for big some of money to maintain it for you. So why not establish a company, hire people to do it the professional ways and get people paid for it.
