- If you look at the list that I have compiled, seven out of 11 have titles such as:
CFO, COO, Financial Controller, General Manager, Group Operations Manager, General Manager - Operations and Finance, General Manager.
- ONT being a company that is not too big and complicated, why can't he just choose one title and stick with it?
- If the linkedin profile that I found is for the correct Patrick Wyatt, then it's highly unlikely that at ONT he will only work as a Company Secretary. This is because his past roles range from Financial Controller, General Manager to Director of Finance.
- ONT is not big enough to necessitate having a full time Company Secretary that doesn't do other things, I'm pretty sure he will have some kind of a role at ONT's finance department.
- Another observation that I had is, as ONT gets bigger, the importance and prestige of the titles of the 2IC seem to be going in reverse, from CFO/COO, to General Manager, to Financial Controller, to just a Company Secretary. As you know, for normal companies, it's usually the other way around.
- With so much decision making power concentrated in DH's hands, if something out of the blue happens to DH, what will happen to ONT?
- As an investor who highly values corporate culture, are you willing to turn a blind eye on ONT's unusually high rate of executive churn and just focus on the financials? We are talking about $150m market cap company here and it's been 13 years since ONT first listed.
- Townsville being a small regional city, it's not easy for people there to find a job at an ASX listed company as a General Manager or Company Secretary. The fact that they all left after a short stint at ONT may possibly mean that the environment inside the HQ is too suffocating for them.
- Have a look at the following job review at ONT, not all are bad, but there are some that are quite scathing of DH.
