Some research on Kengere and Pb Zn in the copper belt.


Regionally there is a broad distribution of "later" Zn/Pb dominated deposits that are separated spatially and stratigraphically from the "earlier" Cu+-/Co deposits.

SOME GENERAL COMMENTS
Similarities within the various Zn Pb deposits of the 'copper belt' include stratigraphy, presence of a major breccia, and globular hydrocarbon minerals at a large scale.  Economic and academic geologists have a field day with the smaller scale details of chemistry, structure etc of these modified ?MVT/sedex deposits that goes way beyond HC.

The largest deposit by far is Ivanhoe's Kipushi at some 60MT with significant high grade reserves remaining after previous mining.


Kengere 'belongs' to Ivanhoe as well, with this the most recent detail a quick search revealed on IVN's website.    

Given the size and commitment required for K-K, Ivanplaats, and Kipushi it wouldn't be too surprising to find projects of lesser, but reasonable, potential on IVN's back burner.

NZC's TARGETS
The above should give some context for the recently announced NZC Pb/Zn geochemistry targets



One observation is that the Zn geochemistry highs seem to correlate with magnetic ?lows (blue) perhaps in addition to the structures mentioned above.
The anomalous Zn samples also seem to form contiguous anomalies of significant size.
