New targets to add to exploration tracker and they are beauties
I’ll update my exploration overview in next week or so, also expecting to get a copy of mining code and some time with smits to redo my financial models
Interesting feedback from meetings in Cape Town, consensus is “wtf” and everyone is uniting to negotiate as a single mining body. Hopefully they can navigate a solution that is less disruptive and something more gradual / predictable. And despite the overt opposition have heard behind closed doors there is recognition that the DRC treasury is in an appalling state and there will need to be some sort of short term relief from glencore / randgold / CMOC. Worth looking at how glencore has structured Katanga mining debt and “loss making” books to understand the Congolese point of view.
Also good to remember we have no exposure to gecamines or any changes they are proposing, our local partner is GICC, while we are exposed to DRC Tax changes we have no ownership or requirement for ownership by gecamines, which is a state owned mining company with control of selected assets in and around Katanga
Ivanhoe Kamoa/Kakula and JV ground also gecamines free, although Kipushi is a gecamines JV it doesn’t really seem to be priced into Ivanhoe share price
That’s why the partners you pick are important, we couldn’t have a better mix of capital / political and technical backing than tembo / huayou and GICC
Ok enjoy the sniping comments from passerby’s, I think the $10m in bank will deal us more than a few positive catalysts and they will piss off

Yes it is exciting the prospects that lie ahead this year and beyond. A lot of area to cover and a lot of leads. Looking forward to the aeromag results.
