re: Ann: Company Announcment re Half Year to ... Hi Okra

My references were to the company that has the 'first" regenerative accumulator in a garbage truck. It is not brakes as such and nor wa steh Permo drive.

The articles related to another Aussie company alled Permo drive that was based in Lismore NSW that developed that years ago. It has I believe now been liquidated?
It used a aftermarket retro fit hydraulic pump on the tailsfaft of trucks and busses that stored and released energy by a accumulator changing gas to liquid. Google permo drive and you will find teh stories. These guys had Dana as a partner and spent years with teh US millitary and various govt departments.

The Parker Runwise hybrid hydrostatic drive used on the garbage truck in the video is a very limited application to low speed vehicles even with it's dual hydrstatic drive motors.

The thompson CV joint is another example of Aussie mechanical know how IP that has suffered due to management and company structure. Great product that expanded worldwide but couldn't support teh network of sales and ongoing research funding.

Seems a very common thread in getting to market on a commercial scale with engineered products from Australia as there is very high barriers to entry in teh wrld market.

ABV have a niche at teh moment and are selling into mining but be wary about calculating market size in other parts of the world as the best technology won't always win and there are huge organisations with unlimited budgets to sneak up and grab your patents as they expire.
