""Real life data" as you put it Teddyward has been done, in fact ABV did make improvements as a result"
If the "real life" data has been done why are they doing 10 test units and what is the deal in regards to how these are paid for? Do they really have to give every prospective client 6-12-18 months of freebies for their "special circumstance" to show their product is the best available and most cost effective?
This is usually a big industry ploy to get a small player to put their product out there for free and they then big industry don't have a commitment to buy even when hurdles of performance and cost are realised. I really hope the 10 units deal has a component of the industry putting their hand in their pocket as hurdles are met and a commitment to order future trucks or to take over full ownership of the units when the "trial" is finished. Of course ABV will have the option to improve their product and to roll it out updates and design improvements as they get more data on wear and reliability of the smaller components that make up the complete unit but they have a approved unit that has already done "trials".
I hope all the trial vehicles are set up with full telemetry showing braking g force and GPS data so in future full data exists so other big players from any country can't get trial units. The telemetry should be on those trucks now ( if they don't already have trackers) so it aligns with the same data/routes on the vehicle when it is updated to ABV brakes. ie a before and after data set that then follows on to show savings in maintenance , downtime etc to prove the economics of installation
I want these guys to get units into the build of trucks , warranty as per whole truck and that way you have the manufacturer or of the trucks doing your sales for you. Problem in Australia is that the very contractors that are collecting the rubbish are vertically integrated with the manufacturer of the truck so they can manipulate margins and costs.
