Future Growth Areas CSG industries over the next 25 years

Future Growth Areas and Issues Preliminary assessments indicate that most of the growth in the coal and coal seam gas industries over the next 25 years is likely to occur in the northern parts of the State: in the Hunter Valley, the
northern part of the Western Basin, and the Gunnedah Basin. These changes will require upgrades to rail infrastructure linking these areas to the Port of Newcastle; and the coal loading capacity at the port.
