Being a relatively new shareholder in APA, a large part of me hopes the deal does get blocked, because I think that this company, with its very rare (and albeit regulated) asset base, combined with the structural growth in gas demand in Australia, will be able to continue growing its distributions - at rates that are several times the rate of inflation - for years to come.
