If the CEO of a company leaves after 10 months to pursue other interests, then that may indicate that running a company like Saferoads is just not challenging enough.
Perhaps a CEO's typical weekly schedule at the company could look something like this:
MONDAY: Speak to tea-lady as to how bowls practice went over the weekend; check emails to see if anything has come in from one of the direct reports; book lunch at the local for the regular "T-Bone and Mash"; before 4, text the hearing-impaired subbie who painted the latest batch of light poles "cream" rather than "green".
TUESDAY: Board meeting at 10 a.m. - apologise for absence in advance due to having to put finishing touches to "Speed Humps Save Lives" speech at tomorrow's Freemason's meeting; Advise Board that everything is probably progressing to schedule with sales of guard rail and safety kerbing.
WEDNESDAY: Cancel Freemason function if speech not finished ("wife is still feeling ill"); ring around for an overhead projector, otherwise do away with overheads.
THURSDAY: Promise to do away with overheads at the Company (if it's O.K. with each of the State Managers); work on submission to reduce management bonus incentive hurdle rate due to Eurozone uncertainty.
FRIDAY: Check on bridge contract progress in Karratha; check on contract bridge tournament with Cec and Dot for Sunday's CWA meet.
Any takers for the job??
