The profitable products i refer to are their rated water filled barrier which has been the staple of their range and profitablity in the past, A mate that I went to Uni with is an engineer with the RTA in NSW he informed me that they are phasing out their approval for use, hence why i say they are past their sell by date. Here is a link for you info: you may need to cut and paste into your address bar:
He belives with the structure of the approval committees the other state road authorites will fall in line.
Another source of rummors is someone I studied my MBA with works for one of their major clients, he belives that a major supplier contract is due for renewal in the new year and the gossip around the industry is this will not be renewed and infact handed to one of their competitors, which could have a major impact on the range of product that they current offer to the market. I wait to see if this happens or not, but I guess there will be a period of notice so it may not hit hard until F12/13.
I agree consistency is key there has not been much looking at the constant management changes over the last three years, I note your comments GM appears to be stable, so it is cost of sales and overheads appear to have gone out of control thus impacting on the bottom line. Reading in the financials the board meet very regularly (almost too much) so surely they must have had a grasp of what has been going on and cant keep blaming the management which they employ and keep sacking, how many time can they get it wrong? They have to accept responsiblity and be accountable to their shareholders, but in all this time we see very little change here, this is what I think the problem is with this company, perhaps the main shareholders should step away as they may be too emotionally tied and are limiting the company from moving forward, just my opinion, i guess we all have them, especially with your own comments on one of them in previous posts and the corresponding replies by other contributors.
I for one will follow samizdat's sentiment too cause I am a coward to, and wait to see if any of the gossip turns out to be true, and see how their first half reporting turns out.
