I have provided some thoughts already on the revenue growth path and future profitability. What's also useful to understand is why this technology is so good, and why as awareness grows I believe sales will accelerate.
I feel I can comment with some knowledge on this as I have worked in many roles in water quality, planning and deployment of environmental regulation at scale, and delivery of IT systems to support environmental regulations. My first job was collecting and processing water quality samples in a science lab. (And no im nothing to do with EVS)
Industry regulation is a very expensive, and incredibly inefficient process. Much of the sampling and processing is still manual, and not in real time. Let alone predictive.
Conversely budgets for environmental regulators globally whilst in total scale are massive, are under constant diminishment with the expectation of more effective and efficient processes, and as tax revenue diverts to growing healthcare and aging population issues.
In contrast community expectations are growing, and the cost for industry of community liaison, provision of accurate information and event analysis for smells, spills etc is huge.
What they have produced in envirosuite:
- is so effective and easy to use, it reduces the cost of what they need to do anyway in people hours
- but also does it better, with better predictive results
Hence point 1 is I am firmly of the belief overlaying envirosuite into an existing process saves time and money.
Another important thing is the people who work in these industry's by in large:
- are passionate about the environment
- frequently move back and forth between water utilities and water regulation during their career path
Envirosuite is incredibly user friendly in its UI (just look at the screen shots), and makes it easier to do your job, with better outcomes.
So point 2 is not only will users like and appreciate it as a tool to do their job. As managers change roles, if they have had it before they will request it.
Eg the quality manager at the Mexico gold mine who has it, when he/she moves to be head of quality for 10 mins sites for a mining major could well insist all sites deploy it.
The compelling industry proposition, and user network growth effect, are some of the reasons I call the tech 'world class'
Of course it can be replicated, but the people best placed to do are are the likes of hdr and erm who are already sales partners. Anyone else is two years behind and EVS now have a global sales network sewn up and a running start.
DYOR. The above are my opinions only
