If you want to see some more weird LIC stuff have a look at HHV. They had huge jump recently, probably from some traders spotting their Sirtex holding (IMHO). Too late now.

LICs behave like normal stocks, too many buyers or too many sellers bash the price around, particularly in the smaller ones. I'm afraid my typical holding period is around 8-10 years so I can only really take advantage of the "too many sellers" side.

ALF is top of my "buy when cheap" list.
