I could be wrong but I think the MD (Travis) and others received these options after working for a long period on reduced pay. Since then of course he and others have reduced dilution for AQI shareholders by keeping Barrick spending, while they have also added the Ianna Project, thus preserving shareholder funds and building a high quality portfolio.

I view the issue of these options as a positive thing for the share price (assuming he doesn't sell immediately!). The options would have a taxing event on issue (i.e $106,000) and issuing them now probably indicates that he thinks that the share price has bottomed. The recent days share trades certainly suggest this could be the case, after AQI has been oversold, and if the next round of drill results is good (there is still more than 1000m to be reported from Arakaka) then the SP could recover quickly to more realistic levels. The current EV/market cap is extremely low for AQI's portfolio.
