Well I understand there has actually been a very benign period for illness recently, Medibank mentioned on pg 22 of their pres on Tuesday that there has been a continued period of soft hospital utilisation. I think we have had a relative Goldilocks period in weather conditions etc overall, maybe some anti sugar publicity, who knows, can make up any reasons? We haven't really had any cold weather in Melbourne yet, where I live. We also had quite a terrible virus season last winter, some nursing homes had significant deaths that got attention, like JHC, 19 Dec 2017 Ann.
Also I saw this news as in the link below the other day - so there may be more prevention occurring, maybe with those bulk billed home doctor visits saving some lives.
