I agree, an investigation might not be a bad thing but its mandate would need to be wider than just this transaction, starting with the issue of shares to Paul Morrell and ending who knows where...suppose it would depend on how far back you wanted it to go.

There is the never ending dilemna of having Directors with shares versus Directors with complete independence. then there is the payment to Directors of equity to preserve cash and then there is the payment to Directors for over-reach targets being achieved. There is a fine balance for all these matters and this one has fallen way outside that balance but the latest purchase the Chair doesn't seem untoward really and it is small.

However the blackout period is important and the giveaway is the comment by Grant62 that there must be no sensitive information due for release at the AGM if a company officer is buying this close to the AGM. I noticed that it did not disclose who the actual party was, as little possible disclosure as they can get away with. The amount is so small it would have little impact on the results of the upcoming resolution votes but by the nature and timing of the purchase is odd and just shoves it up shareholders noses, again.
