I would of said $500k won't have much effect on the s.p. but $2.5mill. certainly would, it will show the market that these investors may actually be serious and that there is a future for GMC = confidence = increase in s.p.
These guys will a) want their money back b) they will also want a return
Wouldn't be surprised if they are doubling up to average down - 0.006/7 + 0.015 / 2 = 0.011
