    Cheers for the compliments gself.

I remember buying AXM shares back in the day, because Ashley and Kimmy were on board. Granted they had their successes back in the day, but you know me mate, I'll praise 'em when they're running hot and bag 'em when they're out in the cold. The stock market is not all about high-fiving executives, you gotta slap 'em around a bit when they stuff up.

I don't ever see myself running a mining company, and I don't ever proclaim to be more than the armchair expert. Good on Kimmy for building a $1.5b company. I know a whole lot of companies that were built up in the multiple billions... Centro, MFS, Babcock, Bear, ABC Learning, Lehmanns... heck just last night I was reading the story behind Crazy Eddies... Mate, you probably should know by now, you can build billions just on the premise of a fanciful promise.

"Kimmy had $130m of his own money invested in KZL alone"

Can you please back up this claim.
I just had a look at the IPO prospectus, pre IPO Kimmy had 5.1m shares of 18.5m shares on issue with paid up capital of $1m... so pre IPO, each share on issue was paid up to 5.7 cents on average. Kimmy had around $295k riding on this to begin with. By Jan 2001, he had 12m shares.

I'll be interested to know how you came up with the majestic figure of $130 million invested?

"How would I fare running a company after the GFC, runaway A$, rises in input costs and low metals prices?"

    - Number 1, shut down unprofitable or marginal mines.
    - Number 2, A runaway A$ has its benefits, anything priced in US$ becomes cheaper in A$, so I would purchase goods and materials priced in US$ with my A$. Which usually means developing the business overseas.
    - Number 3, increased input costs? if the inputs are greater than the outputs... technically, that's not even a business, either the business is crook or incompetent. Things like labour costs, you can shift your business to more impoverished areas of a country, e.g. there's a move in China to shift factories from the east to the west.
    - Number 4, Low metals prices? I'd be shifting operations to low cost, aka quality mines to maintain margins.

If you may allow me another piece of chaffery. It appears Kimmy is also on the board of CNX... enough said.
