From old broker reports, in 2010, global consumption was around 700,000 tpa, and China had capacity of 1.2m tpa but 60% was idle, so ability to produce 720,000 tpa, but were closing smaller plants.
This report says China's consumption will be 350,000 tpa, but production only 152,000 tpa.
They must have closed a hell of a lot of plants...maybe including CMC's plant, but we have not been told?????
