They were probably given the shares at no cost and definitely given the unlisted options for free. When Directors do not put the hand into their pockets to buy shares on market shows they have no faith in the company at all. They are using the company as a tool for a regular pay packet and the freebies ( shares & options ) they give themselves.
If they reckon the company was a good thing to make money on by buying shares like us, they would buy wouldn't they ? I sold all the ones I had and good riddance
