....the problem with trading magnesium is that, CMC is not producing any magnesium.

So they either speculate via the futures ( selling now in the hope the prize drops later to buy it back cheaper) or they have to buy it somehow cheaper and selling it more expensive. I think it is a high risk strategy that can easily go wrong. Mind you you can argue they have got nothing to loose anyway.
