A director should always wrap some context around a comment like that. The share prices follow projected earnings he most likely would have been factoring the share price against current value.

Poor form offering a commentary on the SP full stop in my book. Say something along the lines of, share prices take a lot more into consideration that the current financial position of the company or the day to day operation. So it's not appropriate for me to come moment on SP value, the market takes care of that.
