"Seven West Media has announced job cuts at its Melbourne broadcast centre, ahead of a new joint venture with Nine Entertainment Co.
The two media companies will share facilities in Sydney for their playout operations, a move that will result in an unconfirmed number of redundancies.
A spokesman said in a joint statement that the arrangement would “provide economies of scale by consolidating infrastructure for the two businesses, and create an industry facility company able to service other broadcasters and companies”.
“Seven has announced some planned changes to the way we work that would result in a number of roles in our broadcast operations team being impacted,” the statement said."
how do you guys think this would work?
Seven and Nine are competitors.
so any sharing of infrastructure would need to accomodate that.
so are they just going to share or J/V the actual broadcast intrastructure like equipment, somehow studios? and othe requipment?? I have no idea.
cheers
