You are so very right gassed. And, IMHO, it will happen again and again.
The thing that we have to consider here though, is that, if the financial Institution doing the lending here, is not a substantial holder in the company that holds at least 5% of the company itself, no one will even know who is doing the lending and as to where the shares available for lending come from. So we are kept more and more in the dark, like the mushrooms, while of course it is all legal and above board.
